In 1999, Hu Dongfang came to Wenzhou and was invited to join "Risesun" in 2003. At that time, "Risesun" had just started and there were no new products for electric energy meters. He worked all night with a few new colleagues and researched seven products at once. Within a week, they developed a energy meter sample and submitted it to Hebei Province for bidding, which made a splash and won a large number of orders.
The products he participated in the design and technological transformation have consistently ranked among the top in the country in the bidding ranking of State Grid. Not only does he bring more than 400 million yuan global orders to the company every year, but various innovations also save the company more than 30 million yuan in production costs every year. Based on details and bold innovation, Hu Dongfang has gained a reputation in the mold design industry. Many parts in the field of electric meters require interchangeability, high dimensional requirements, and automated production and inspection on assembly lines. In the products developed by Hu Dongfang, the shape of the terminal post is controlled within 0.01mm, and the height error of the outer box after stacking eight layers can be controlled within 1mm. With the rapid increase in industrial and civilian electricity consumption, it is estimated that the losses caused by electricity theft nationwide amount to over 20 billion yuan annually. This national major scientific and technological project won the first technical score in the national electricity meter bidding and was selected for the 2017 Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Achievement Database.
